Safari Overview
This is an amazing camping safari to Amboseli National Park well know for the its big elephants(Jumbos), Its near the biggest mountain Kilimanjaro with its clear view from the park very early in the morning. Accommodation is in kimana camp which is named after the nearby market and the park gate.
Amboseli is often called the ‘Land of Giants’ – due to the impressive elephants here carrying massive tusks. The animals are set against breathtaking vistas of Mt Kilimanjaro, which makes an awesome backdrop to the small park. Aside from elephants, many plains animals are easy to spot. Fantastic photo opportunities are possible, and early mornings are best for clear views of Kilimanjaro.

Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli
After breakfast at your accommodation or airport in Nairobi, you will depart to Amboseli National Park where your safari begins. The park is located northwest of Mt. Kilimanjaro on the border with Tanzania. This is the best park to get close to gentle giant free-ranging elephants and have spectacular views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. You will embark on your first safari starting 1600hrs until 1830hrs, and also get to enjoy daily game drives. Night game drives can also be arranged at an extra cost.
Day 2: Amboseli to Naivasha
After breakfast then drive to fantastic Lake Naivasha located approx. 320kms from Amboseli and 6 hrs drive away. You will check-in at your accommodation for lunch and relax before you set off again in the afternoon. The freshwater lake offers a wide variety of activities from boat excursions, where you get close to big families of hippos aboard your boat. Later you will disembark at the shores of the lake and to Crescent Island for a walking safari on this paradise on earth where they filmed the movie Out of Africa.
Day 3&4: Maasai Mara
On this day of safari is a drive to the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. The reserve is well known for its black-maned lions as well as its abundant resident wildlife and it’s one of the few places where it is possible to see the big five during either the morning or the evening game drives.
Many of the Cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one’s vehicles and on several occasions climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. For the birds enthusiastic almost 500 species have been recorded among these, species of eagle plus many hawks and falcons,6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 of Bastards (including the Kori bustard the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.
Arrive at your accommodation in time for lunch.
The afternoon game drive starts at 16:00 exploring this great African savanna, back to your accommodation when the sun sets down behind the horizons with a beautiful silhouette against the dimming African skies.
The second day in Mara will be spent exploring the extensive grasslands savannas with options of a full day, half-day, or morning and afternoon game drives. Whatever best suits you depends on the wildlife sighting, migration patterns, and the prevailing weather conditions. Hot air balloons and traditional Maasai communities’ cultural visits for a glimpse into their rich culture, can also be arranged.
Day 5: Maasai Mara – Nairobi
Wake up early for a sunrise morning game drive returning to your safari lodge at 9:00 am for breakfast before packing your luggage and checking out the latest 10:00 am You will arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon and be transferred to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your flight.
